The event provided an opportunity to explore the research field of synthetic biology and artificial life in general and to learn about the latest scientific developments. Martin Hanczyc presented the achievements of the ACDC scientific research project toward building artificial cells, and Alan Dorin shared his perspective as a professor of Information Technology, bringing new insights when it comes to artificial intelligence. The two speakers shared the latest discoveries in the design and assembly of synthetic organisms, the engineering of living systems, the interrelation between biology and technology and the need to act collectively toward a more sustainable future, with a conscious and responsible use of science and technology advancements.
he discussion focused on the ethical and social aspects of artificial life and cutting-edge technologies, addressing the challenges and opportunities as mankind approaches the creation of new life forms in the laboratory.
