Synthetic biology is the engineering of biology: the synthesis of complex systems, biologically inspired or based, which display functions that do not exist in nature. It has the potential to bring about epochal changes in medicine, agriculture, industry, ethics.
Is it possible to engage communities in debate and research in the field of artificial life through gaming?
MSc and PhD students have been invited to get involved and take part in the second challenge organised by the ACDC project: the ultimate goal is to design a game related to synthetic biology.
The programme includes online training and mentorship and a 24 final creative hacakthon in precence at the MUSE, the science museum of Trento.
24 students from all over Europe followed an online training about Synthetic Biology and Gamification and met at the MUSE on the 18th and 19th of November 2022 for the final session of the challenge.
Throughout the project students have been supervised by researchers from ACDC universities, gamification experts from the company Ludo Labo and challenge based learning specialist from the School of Innovation.
